The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the dismantling of Hamas' military infrastructure in the northern Gaza Strip, marking a significant step in their operations. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF spokesperson, confirmed in a press conference that the military framework of Hamas in this region has been successfully dismantled. Presently, the focus of the Israeli troops is shifting towards dismantling Hamas' presence in central and southern Gaza.
Moreover, the IDF and Shin Bet reported the elimination of Ismail Siraj, the commander of Hamas' Nuseirat battalion in central Gaza, and his deputy, Ahmed Wahaba, in an airstrike. This battalion was allegedly responsible for the attacks on Kibbutz Be'eri in October.
Despite these advancements, Hagari cautioned about potential sporadic rocket fire from these areas, even after dismantling the military network. He highlighted the presence of terrorists in refugee camps in central Gaza and the elaborate underground tunnel networks of Hamas in the Khan Yunis area.
Hagari stressed that the military operations are ongoing and forecasted their continuation throughout 2024. He emphasized the IDF's commitment to a comprehensive plan aimed at achieving the objectives of the conflict, which include the dismantling of Hamas and the release of all hostages held by the group.
