Russia-China Relations: Built on Equitable Cooperation and Trustworthy Dialogue, Says Foreign Minister Lavrov

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi engaged in discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Beijing on Tuesday, demonstrating mutual interest in enhancing practical collaboration across various domains. Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed felicitations to President Putin on his reelection, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Furthermore, Wang expressed China's readiness to align with Russia in fortifying synergy between their respective development blueprints, as per agreements reached by the two heads of state, while fostering pragmatic cooperation across diverse sectors.

Lavrov emphasized the foundation of Russia-China relations on principles of mutual respect, equitable collaboration, and dependable dialogue. Russia adheres to the one-China principle and stands prepared to bolster close high-level exchanges and deepen economic, trade, and other substantive collaborations with China.

Moreover, Lavrov reiterated Russia's backing for the Global Security Initiative and its willingness to deepen multilateral cooperation with China to advocate for a more equitable and democratic global order.

In addition to bilateral matters, both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions concerning the Ukraine situation, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, developments in the Asia-Pacific region, and other international and regional issues of mutual concern.
