Russia's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, has cast doubt over the credibility of the recent statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about possible negotiations with Russia.
She expressed skepticism after Zelensky announced he would invite Russian representatives to a second peace conference on Ukraine, planned for November, according to a Xinhua news agency report.
Speaking at a news briefing Wednesday, Zakharova said that she does not trust Zelensky or his government. She emphasized that Zelensky, his administration, or their Western patrons have not taken any steps to repeal the legislation prohibiting negotiations with Russia.
Zakharova also hinted that Zelensky, along with his Western allies, could be trying to resurrect their failed "peace formula" once again.
