Putin Extends I-Day Greetings, Highlights India’s ‘Well-Deserved’ Global Respect

"India has become a success in socio-economic, scientific, technical, and other areas widely recognized throughout the world. Your nation is rightly respected on the international arena and makes an active contribution to solving the most important issues on the international agenda," Putin stated in the message.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday lauded India's staggering achievements and the "well-deserved respect on the international stage" while sending Independence Day wishes to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India's 79th Independence Day.

"India has become a success in socio-economic, scientific, technical, and other areas widely recognized throughout the world. Your nation is rightly respected on the international arena and makes an active contribution to solving the most important issues on the international agenda," Putin stated in the message.

He also underlined the robustness of bilateral relations, declaring, "We greatly appreciate our special, privileged strategic partnership with India. I believe that by our common efforts, we will further strengthen constructive bilateral cooperation in many areas. This fully corresponds to the interests of our friendly peoples and contributes to the consolidation of security and stability in the region and the entire world."

Bhutan's Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, too extended warm greetings to India, calling attention to the long-standing friendship between the two countries and wishing for peace, prosperity, and progress.

A few other world leaders and foreign ministers wished India on its Independence Day as the nation celebrated.

Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan tweeted on X, "Wishing India a happy 79th Independence Day. Our earlier this week meeting only underlined the resilience of our connection. We mark 60 years of diplomatic relations.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong wished External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, the people of India, and Indian–Australian communities a great India Independence Day, highlighting the expanding partnership between the two nations. "Wishing my friend S. Jaishankar, the people of India and our Indian-Australian communities a great India Independence Day. As we mark five years of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with India, our relationship is stronger and more significant than ever," Wong posted on X.

Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel also used social media to share his wishes, mentioning the possibility of greater accomplishments through Maldives–India collaboration. "Warmest wishes to Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar and the people of India on your Independence Day. Our long-standing friendship remains strong, and the pace of our cooperation assures even more accomplishments in the coming years," Khaleel wrote on X.

Nepal's Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba wished EAM Jaishankar and the people of India on India's Independence Day, wishing that India remains a beacon of democracy for the entire world. "Wishing S. Jaishanakar and the people of India a happy 79th India's Independence Day. Nepal truly appreciates its long-standing and lasting friendship with India.". On this day of Independence, we wish the nation of India all prosperity, unity, and harmony. May India continue to be a beacon of democracy and inspire nations globally," Deuba wrote on X.
