PM Modi Arrives in Brazil for G20 Summit Participation

PM Modi, in a post on social media platform X said, "Landed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to take part in the G20 Summit. I look forward to the Summit deliberations and fruitful talks with various world leaders."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday to attend the G20 Summit hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

This is India, a key member of G20 Troika along with Brazil and South Africa, that has been busy molding the discussions here at this summit underway.

The country's positions on other matters of global importance would be presented by the Prime Minister during the Summit on Monday. He is going to build up from outcomes from the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration and Voice of the Global South Summits hosted by India during the last two years.

The MEA had earlier stated on Friday that on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, the Prime Minister is expected to meet several leaders.

After the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Modi will call on Georgetown. This will be the first visit to Guyana by an Indian PM since 1968.

Prime Minister Modi, at the invitation of President of Guyan Mohamed Irfaan Ali, will engage in bilateral talks and other senior leaders of Guyana, besides addressing Parliament of Guyana and Indian diaspora gathering from November 19-21.

Last year, Ali had traveled to India as the Chief Guest at the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas held in Indore, where he was also given the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman. The PM will also attend the Second CARICOM-India Summit in Georgetown, Guyana and meet the leaders of the CARICOM member countries to strengthen further the friendship between India and this region for decades together, the MEA said.
