Pakistan invites Taliban to OIC summit, Afghan economy and  its relations with world main agenda: Report

The economy and international relations of Afghanistan with the world are the main agenda items for the meeting, said Waliullah Shaheen, head of the Center For Strategic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pakistan on Monday officially invited the Islamic Emirate to the summit of the Organization of the Islamic Countries (OIC) which is scheduled to be held on December 19, Tolo News reported. The Imran Khan administration took this decision in an attempt to get Taliban international recognition as the current Afghan government has not yet been recognized by any nation of the world yet. The Taliban has time and again failed to comply with its promises of establishing a safe environment and respect for women and uplifting human rights of the citizens of Afghanistan which are some of the preconditions for the recognition set by the international community. The economy and international relations of Afghanistan with the world are the main agenda items for the meeting, said Waliullah Shaheen, head of the Center For Strategic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
