Explosions rock area of Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant: IAEA

More than a dozen blasts were heard on Sunday close to the Zaporizhzhia NPP and at the site of the plant, Xinhua news agency reported, citing a statement by the IAEA. The IAEA, which cited the plant's management, said that some buildings, systems and equipment were damaged at the Zaporizhzhia NPP site, but none so far are critical for nuclear safety and security.

The incident took place late Saturday night at Club Q in the city of Colorado Springs, located about an hour away from the state capital Denver.Police received calls at 11.56 p.m. on Saturday night about an active shooter, the Colorado Springs Police Department said in a statement on Sunday. The first officer arrived at midnight and the suspect, identified as Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, was detained two minutes later, police said.

The Uyghur Human Rights Project analysed Chinese state media, policy documents, government sanctioned marriage testimonials, as well as accounts from women in the Uyghur diaspora to state that government incentives with coercion to boost interethnic marriages has increased since 2014, RFA reported. "The Chinese Party-State is actively involved in carrying out a campaign of forcefully assimilating Uyghurs into Han Chinese society by means of mixed marriages," said the report.
