Israel fires artillery into southern Lebanon

The fire on Monday night triggered sirens in the community of Kibbutz Misgav Am in northern Israel, reports Xinhua news agency. "Six failed launches were identified from Lebanon that did not cross into Israeli territory," a military spokesperson said in a statement. There were no immediate reports of casualties on both sides.

Sri Lanka declares new travel restriction

Army Commander and Head of the National Operations Center for the Prevention of Covid-19, General Shavendra Silva told Xinhua news agency on Monday that once the new travel restriction, which will be similar to a curfew, is lifted on the morning of May 25, it will be imposed once again at 11 p.m. on that day till 4 a.m. on May 28.
Global Covid-19 caseload tops 163.3mn

In its latest update on Tuesday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 163,359,299 and 3,385,244, respectively. The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 32,994,232 and 586,350, respectively, according to the CSSE.
