Antigua launches probe into Choksi's 'possible abduction'
According to Antigua Ness Room, a news outlet in Carribean island, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has said that Choksi's lawyers wrote to the police commissioner providing the names of the people he believes abducted him. Browne said both the police and the government are taking the allegations seriously. While speaking to a radio, Browne said that he has learnt that Choksi has filed a complaint with Antigua and Barbuda police that he was abducted and taken to Dominica.

Global Covid-19 caseload tops 173.1mn
In its latest update on Monday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 173,197,944 and 3,726,107, respectively. The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 33,362,471 and 597,627, respectively, according to the CSSE.
'Delta' Covid variant 40% more transmissible than 'Alpha': UK minister
"We were previously told by the scientific advisory group for emergencies (Sage) that there would be problems if a variant was 40 per cent to 50 per cent more transmissible," Hancock was quoted as saying by the BBC. "The latest scientific advice is that the Delta variant, first detected in India, is 40 per cent more transmissible than the Kent strain," he said.
