British PM Boris Johnson is facing a court case for backing Priti Patel, the British Home Secretary, over an alleged bullying case. Johnsons was criticised for standing with his home secretary after the latter's alleged unacceptable behaviour toward Philip Rutnam, a permanent secretary in the home office. Philip Rutnam had resigned on this issue.

Biden signs law to ban Huawei, ZTE from doing business in US

The 'Secure Equipment Act of 2021' had received bipartisan support prior to it being signed by the President, ZDNet reported on Friday. Last year, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) designated Huawei and ZTE as national security threats to communications networks -- making it harder for US firms to buy equipment from them. Under the new law, the FCC is required to no longer review or approve any authorisation application for equipment posing a clear risk to national security.

Chairing a meeting with visiting Afghan acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Thursday, Qureshi said, Pakistan is committed to peace, stability and progress in Afghanistan, a statement by the Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said. Qureshi also outlined Pakistan's efforts for providing humanitarian and economic support to Afghanistan given the challenges being faced by the Afghan people, added the statement.

The temporary order of postponing of the record issued by a three-judge panel for the DC Circuit Court of Appeals allowed Trump a time to continue his legal challenge, reported Xinhua news agency. The panel order, which also mentioned the oral arguments over the case for November 30, reads "The purpose of this administrative injunction is to protect the court's jurisdiction to address (Trump's) claims of executive privilege and should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits."
Belarus, US will not exchange ambassadors in near future: Minister

Belarus is interested in developing relations with the United States, Makei said on Wednesday, hoping that the United States will better understand the interests of Belarus instead of imposing a US-style form of democracy on the country. The United States believes Belarus plays a buffer role between Russia and the West, but Belarus has no interest in assuming that position, he added.
