Reacting to the incident of the alleged assassination attempt on ex-US President Donald Trump, Tech mogul and billionaire Elon Musk controversially stated why "no assassination attempts were being made on US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris".
US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris escaped an assassination attempt after bullets were fired near former US President Donald Trump outside a golf course in Florida, USA.
The FBI said the target of an alleged assassination attempt was Donald Trump in Florida, while the campaign for the Republican presidential candidate and law enforcement report he is safe and unharmed.
Responding to a question from an X user, "Why they want to kill Donald Trump?", the Tesla CEO wrote: "And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala."
One of the head honchos at Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, who was a supporter of Trump, has been posting several in support of him lately.
US Secret Service on Tuesday confirmed one or more of its agents "opened fire on a gunman" who was near the boundary of Trump's golf course, and an "AK-47 style rifle" was recovered along with a video camera.
According to officials, it is still unclear if the gunman-the man police say is Ryan Wesley Routh-fired his weapon in former President Bush's direction, but, Secret Service agents did fire on the suspect who was hiding in the bushes at the golf course.
In the remarks, his son, Donald Trump Jr., said authorities found an AK-47 rifle in the bushes, just a few feet away from the spot where Trump was leaving.
"Again folks! SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement," he said in a post on X.
The attack occurred just two months after he was shot at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The right ear suffered a minor injury. The attacker was instantly killed by security personnel.
The White House said in a statement that both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's Democratic rival in the November elections, had been briefed on the matter.
"There's no place for political violence or any violence ever in our country," President Joe Biden said in a statement.
