Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted that an all-out conflict with Hamas is soon to come to an end. During an interview with the Israeli Channel 14 TV news, Netanyahu had said Sunday that "intensive phase" of operations in Rafah is already nearing its end, and Israeli forces are getting close to such a phase throughout the Gaza Strip.

Speaking ahead, Netanyahu pointed out that once the job in Gaza is over, Israel will move northwards, insinuating what appears to be Israel's preparation for dealing with Hezbollah in Lebanon as well. He called for any presumptive ceasefire agreement on the border between Israel and Lebanon to meet Israel's requirements.

Basically, Netanyahu said that these involved the deposition of Hamas as the ruling power in Gaza and the freeing of some 100 hostages being held there.
