Melania Trump Declines Tea Invitation from Jill Biden During Husbands' Meeting

"Her husband's return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success," it said.

Melania Trump skipped a meeting with Jill Biden, as the husbands met at the White House on Wednesday.
Two hours before US President-elect Donald Trump and President Joe Biden were to meet, Melania's office announced, in an X post: "Mrs. Trump will not be attending today's meeting at the White House."

"Her husband's return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success," it said.

Her office did not give a reason for her not taking up First Lady Jill Biden's invitation for tea.

But it added, "In this instance, several unnamed sources in the media continue to provide false, misleading, and inaccurate information. Be discerning with your source of news."

It did not deny directly any of the reports about her not meeting with Jill Biden.

A report on the New York Post earlier on Monday stated that she would not attend the White House, while "a source familiar with Melania's decision" was quoted saying that she was miffed that her husband authorized the raid at the Mara-a-Lago residence in which Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents had to rifle through her personal wardrobe.

In August 2022, the FBI searched the Trumps' residence in search of classified files that Trump purportedly removed with him in violation of the Official Secrets Act.

After the customs and what was becoming of it, Michelle Obama invited Melania Trump to tea at the White House when Donald Trump became the president-elect.

Melania Trump did not invite Jill Biden for a meeting either, just like Donald Trump didn't have the traditional meeting with Joe Biden who insisted that election was "stolen."

Melania Trump appears to be icy toward the First Lady, according to an interview she gave to French Magazine Paris Match.

Fox News reported last month before the election on the interview.

According to Fox News, Jill Biden "took the initiative to contact me directly," after "someone tried to murder my husband in Pennsylvania" during his rally on July 13, she was reported saying.
But she said, "I do question, however whether Jill's concern was genuine as a few days prior she referred to my husband as 'evil' and a 'liar.".

"It was obvious that the barrage of rhetoric coming out of Democrat leaders and the mainstream media had sunk so deep into our nation's psyche that it led to an assassination attempt at Donald," she said in the interview as published by Fox News.
