On Wednesday, Israel's Opposition Leader, Yair Lapid, strongly criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for labeling Israel as a "terrorist state." Erdogan's assertion comes amid longstanding tensions between the two nations.
“We won’t take lessons in morality from President Erdogan, a man with an appalling human rights record,” Lapid wrote on X.
“Israel is defending itself against brutal terrorists from Hamas-ISIS, some of whom have been allowed to operate under Erdogan’s roof,” he said.
Turkey, historically known as a refuge for high-ranking members of Hamas, further complicates the delicate relationship between Israel and Turkey.
