The evacuees, who had been temporarily staying in Shfayim since the October 7 assault, will become the inaugural residents of a five-story apartment complex within the university premises. Each apartment is thoughtfully furnished, providing bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, electrical appliances, and decorations to ensure a comfortable transition for the affected families.

A heartwarming gesture is visible at the entrance of the university, where a prominent sign reads, "Kibbutz Kfar Aza, how good that you have come."

The October 7 assault on Kfar Aza witnessed approximately 70 Hamas gunmen breaching the fence and infiltrating the kibbutz, located just 3 km from the Gaza Strip border. The militants unleashed a violent rampage, resulting in the loss of numerous lives, including children and elderly residents. It took the Israel Defense Forces two days to regain control of the community, and the aftermath revealed at least 52 residents dead, with more than 20 reported missing. The university's initiative to house and welcome the evacuated families demonstrates a positive step towards rebuilding lives and fostering a sense of community resilience.
