Early Monday morning witnessed the firing of approximately 20 rockets towards Israel, fortunately resulting in no reported casualties during the attack.
Hamas took responsibility for the assault, attributing it to their Al-Qassam Brigades, as revealed in a Telegram post. According to the statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades targeted the city of Tel Aviv and its environs with a barrage of 'M90' rockets. This action was declared in response to what Hamas referred to as "Zionist massacres against civilians."
Rocket alarms echoed across the Gaza border area and central Israel, encompassing locations like Bat Yam and Holon. Notably, Tel Aviv did not sound its sirens during the incident.
The recent rocket barrage occurred against the backdrop of heightened tensions initiated by Israel's ground offensive in Gaza, which commenced on October 27. The Israeli move followed a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7, resulting in the death of 1200 Israelis and the abduction of over 200 individuals.
Tragically, since the eruption of hostilities, the toll on Palestinian lives has been devastating, with at least 21,822 fatalities, predominantly comprising children and women. Additionally, 56,451 Palestinians have sustained injuries during this period.
