While on a visit to Beersheba's Soroka Hospital, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sternly reprimanded Iran after a missile attack resulted in some doctors, patients, and employees being seriously injured.
Describing the attack as an assault on civilians, Netanyahu compared Israel's targeted military actions with Iran's. He underlined that while Israel conducts precise attacks on Iran's nuclear and missile capabilities, Iran had targeted a hospital — a hospital that has a children's ward.
I am here in the Soroka Hospital in Be'er-Sheva, alongside the Minister of Health, Deputy Minister Almog Cohen, resident of the South, and also, not for the first time, the director of the Soroka Hospital. We can see the entire difference here.". We are hitting with precision the targets of the nuclear and missile programs, and they’re hitting a hospital, where people can’t even get up and run away,” said a statement released by Netanyahu’s office on Thursday.
"They're bombing not very far from here — there's a children and babies ward here. That's the entire difference between a democracy taking lawful measures to protect itself from these killers — and these killers who have as their goal to kill every one of us. Every single one of us, until the last one of us. I believe that says it all," the statement went on.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar also attacked Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who had stated that Israeli military command and intelligence centers were the target of the missile strike.
"Araghchi You lie! I just visited Soroka Hospital with dozens of foreign journalists. They witnessed with their own eyes the savage consequences of your regime's missile attack on a hospital that treats Jews, Muslims, and Christians equally. No AI deceives, no manipulative maps can alter the facts. Your savagery is laid bare for all to see," Sa'ar wrote on X.
Retaliating earlier on social media, Araghchi declared, "Earlier today, our great Armed Forces precisely targeted an Israeli Military Command, Control & Intelligence HQ and another essential target. The shockwave inflicted superficial damage to a small area of the adjacent, and largely vacated, Soroka Military Hospital."
He also claimed that the site mainly treats Israeli soldiers participating in Gaza operations, stating it is catering to those "engaged in the Genocide in Gaza 25 miles away, where Israel has destroyed or damaged 94 per cent of Palestinian hospitals."
Responding to the attack, Netanyahu vowed an intense reaction to Tehran, condemning Iran's leadership as "terrorist tyrants.
This morning, Iran's terror tyrants fired missiles at Soroka Beersheba Hospital and at a civilian population in the middle of the country. We will make the tyrants in Tehran pay the full price," he wrote in an X post after the incident.
