Reflecting on her experience of collaborating with Kapil, Tejaswini said, “It feels surreal. I’ve seen Kapil’s journey up close, from those early days to becoming the star he is today.”

Actress Tejaswini Kolhapure, who portrayed Rambha Ma in Hansal Mehta’s acclaimed series Scoop, is all set to appear alongside actor-comedian Kapil Sharma in an upcoming film—a development she describes as a “beautiful twist of fate.”

Reflecting on her experience of collaborating with Kapil, Tejaswini said, “It feels surreal. I’ve seen Kapil’s journey up close, from those early days to becoming the star he is today.”

She also spoke about how much she loved the working relationship with him, adding, "And now, to be sharing the screen with him in a movie, it's a lovely turn of events. It really does feel like life has come full circle. I really had a wonderful rapport and ease of working with him."

The comedy film, with the scenic Shimla as its backdrop, also sees veteran actor Neetu Kapoor play a leading role, putting more star power behind the cast.

What makes this collaboration even more special is Tejaswini’s personal connection to Kapil’s early career. Her husband, Pankaj Saraswat, played a key role in launching Kapil’s journey in the entertainment industry. He was the conceptual force behind The Great Indian Laughter Challenge—serving as its creator, director, and writer—where Kapil received his first significant break on television.

Born into a musical heritage family, Tejaswini is the niece of the iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar. She started her career through modeling and then went on to act in the TV series Mujhe Chaand Chahiye, directed by Raja Bundela.

Tejaswini made her early acting appearances in the Rishtey miniseries episodes "Saughat" and "Tum Bin." She has also had some theatre experience. Interestingly, in 1992, she appeared in a fashion catalogue that also featured now-famous names such as Aishwarya Rai, Sonali Bendre, and Niki Aneja.

She made her film debut with Paanch, directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film's release was however put on hold for years as there was fear of the violence it reflected, drug use, and profanity.

She next featured in Ugly, where she played a messed-up, alcoholic young woman—a role that highlighted her capability and range as an actress.
