On the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, India's Ambassador to the United States, emphasized the country's standing as a symbol of peace, stability, innovation, and prosperity.
During the Republic Day celebrations at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, attended by Indian-American community leaders and embassy officials, Sandhu spoke about India's unique convergence of science and spirituality, ancient and modern, unity and diversity, and physical and digital realms.
He highlighted India's achievements in the last 75 years and expressed pride in the nation's progress. Sandhu cited significant milestones from the previous year, including India's G20 presidency, its commitment to being a voice for the global south, the Chandrayaan moon mission, and the launch of the Global Biofuels Alliance.
Sandhu also noted bilateral achievements such as Prime Minister Modi's historic state visit to the US, President Joe Biden's visit to India, and the launch of iCET, taking the technology partnership between the two countries to the next level.
He emphasized the close cooperation between India and the US across various domains, including technology, trade, space, semiconductors, healthcare, energy, and people-to-people exchanges. Sandhu highlighted their engagement in multilateral forums such as G20, Quad, I2U2, and others, underscoring the partnership's positive impact not only for the citizens of both countries but also for the world at large.
