Independent foreign policy doesn't mean being anti-India : Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Imran Khan further added that he only opposed India when New Delhi changed Kashmir's status, before that he had tried to maintain friendly relations with India. Interestingly, a few days back, Imran Khan had praised India's foreign policy for being neutral which was in the interest of its citizens. He had also praised the Indian Army saying it was not corrupt. 

In an interesting statement, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that an independent foreign policy for Pakistan does not mean it should be anti-India. Imran made these remarks while addressing the nation ahead of the no-confidence motion against his government in the National Assembly. He further added that he only opposed India when New Delhi changed Kashmir's status, before that he had tried to maintain friendly relations with India. Interestingly, a few days back, Imran Khan had praised India's foreign policy for being neutral which was in the interest of its citizens. 1. Taling about his governmet's foreign policy, Imran Khan said: "I decided that my foreign policy will be independent. An independent foreign policy is one which is meant for Pakistanis. It doesn't mean we are anyone's enemies. It doesn't mean we will be anti-Americans, anti-India or anti-European' ”.

2. In his address, PM Imran Khan refused to resign and said that he would fight till the last ball, adding he has never accepted defeat. "When I played cricket for 20 years, the world and those who played cricket with me saw that I play till the last ball. I've never accepted defeat in life. Nobody should think that I will sit at home. I'll come back stronger, whatever may the result be," he said.

3. PM Khan alleged  that the United States was working against an elected PM. He named US though he showed as if it was a slip of tongue. He later moved on and said that "a foreign country" had sent a "threatening memo" and further added that the foreign power was aware of the no-confidence motion being tabled in the assembly. “They say they are angry with Pakistan ... they make this excuse. They say they will forgive Pakistan if Imran Khan loses in no-trust move, but if the move fails, Pakistan will have to go through a difficult time,” Khan said.

4. Pakistan PM Imran Khan had earlier praised India's foreign policy at his rally in Islamabad's Parade Ground. “India is a member of Quad alliance with United States as one of its members. But still it calls itself neutral. India is importing oil from Russia which is facing sanctions. This is because India's foreign policy is for its people,” PM Khan said.

5. No confidence motion against Im ran Khan's government has been adjourned till Sunday.
