Former US President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized his successor Joe Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan situation and called it the “greatest embarrassment in the history of the US”.
Talking to Sean Hannity of Fox News, Trump said that withdrawing troops from Afghanistan is a great thing, however, the execution is not being handled well enough. He further said that if it were up to him, he would’ve gotten Americans and equipment out of the country before military personnel.
Trump also alleged that he had an agreement with the Taliban and that he was willing to back up with force. "This is the greatest embarrassment, I believe, in the history of our country," he said.

After the army withdrawal by America, the government of Afghanistan has seen itself falling in just a matter of a couple of days to the Talibani militias, which has created great uncertainty over the future handling of the country.
Amidst the scrutiny, many people have been seen escaping to other countries in aeroplanes. However, due to insufficient space and aid, many civilians were also seen hanging on to the wing of the aeroplane.
The Biden administration said the US has now secured the airport and cleared the way for thousands of Americans to evacuate, but Trump said there could be as many as 40,000 "potential hostages" left behind.
While in office, Donald Trump had promised to bring back American military personnel from Afghanistan and set a deadline of May 1 after reaching an agreement with the Taliban.
Meanwhile, Biden earlier alleged that the Trump administration's agreement "left the Taleban in the strongest position militarily since 2001".
