Amid the political crisis in Pakistan, one lady named Farah Khan is making headlines for all wrong reasons. Farah Khan is believed to be a close friend of outgoing Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’ s wife Bushra Bibi. Serious corruption charges have also been levelled against Farah Khan. Recently a picture of Farah Khan went viral where she is seen in an aircraft with a bag reportedly worth $90000. The opposition leader Maryam Nawaz even called Farah, ‘mother of all scandals’.

1. Farah Khan fled Pakistan on April 3, the same day Imran Khan dissolved the assembly in wake of ‘no-confidence motion’ against him. As per the media reports, Farah Khan fled to Abu Dhabi while her husband Ahsan Jamil Gujjar is in America. Farah , now being seen as ‘Bushra’s frontwoman’ is accused of receiving 6 billion Pakistani rupees which is around $32 million, on account of transfers, postings of officers in Punjab province.
2. Reportedly, it was Farah Khan’s house where Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan married in 2018. Also Farah Khan was seen attending an iftar party at the residence of Bushra Bibi’s sister in Abu Dhabi after sbe left Pakistan.
3. However, Musa Maneka, son of Bushra Bibi, has denied his family’s connection with Farah Khan and said that Farah Khan has betrayed his mother Bushra bibi and Imran Khan. According to the media reports, Musa said that Farah’s husband Ahsan Jamil Gujjar, was expected to leave Pakistan, but the family never thought Farah would leave too. He also added that his family had nothing to do with Farah Khan or her husband.

4. Farah Khan’s name first made hedlines when estranged PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan accused her of illegal transactions rekated to transfers and postings of officials in Punjab. Although Farah is neither a member of the PTI, nor does she hold any official post in the government.

The united opposition member and leader of PML-N, Maryam Nawaz Sharif also alleged that Farah Khan looted ₹6 billion in the matter of transfer of officers in Punjab and called her ‘mother of all scandals’. “I dare to name Farah, a friend of Bushra Bibi who is involved in receiving millions of rupees in transfers and postings and these are directly connected to Banigala (residence of Prime Minister Khan),” Maryam Nawaz said.

6. Fawad Chaudhary, former minister of Imran Khan’s government, on Wednesday had an argument with a Pakistani journalist over a question on Farah Khan. He even called Journalists ‘kiraaye ke tatto’ , to which Journalists decided to not let him speak a word till he apologised.
