In an interview reported by X.com, Musk said he was highly respectful of China and adds that he really likes the country and the people there really like him in return.
During his tour in China, Musk met with Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). He shared with Ren Hongbin his feelings for the country. "I'm a big fan of China," Musk said in a widely circulated video in X.com. "I have to say that," he continued. "I also have a lot of fans in China, well the feelings are reciprocated," he added.
During his impromptu visit to Beijing on Sunday, Musk met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Reflecting on his and Li's long-standing friendship, Musk posted a snapshot of their meeting on X.com and highlighted that they have known each other since the early days in Shanghai.
The Chinese Premier Li Qiang lauded Tesla's business in China as proof of successful Sino-American economic cooperation, as said in CCTV News. Musk said that, since the Chinese workforce is diligent and smart, the Shanghai Gigafactory is the best operation of Tesla. He said that Tesla is more than ready to create more cooperation with China for both parties.
Soon, apparently, Elon Musk's visit to China has added fuel to the rumor that Tesla's autopilot and supervised full self-driving (FSD) technology will soon hit the Chinese market, one of the second biggest markets of Tesla.
Elon Musk was originally in India earlier this month to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as per CNBCnews, but because he needed to sort out the quarterly results of Tesla, he had to postpone the visit. He later responded to questions about why he didn't prioritize India this time and have a meeting with the Prime Minister, saying, "I meet with more foreign leaders than our sitting President."
