Brooklyn Attack: Gunman in mask fired 33 times injuring over 20 people | What we know so far

After hours of manhunt, The New York Police Department named the suspect-Frank James. However, Frank is still not captured by the police. Over 20 people were reportedly injured in this incident. 10 people were directly hit by the gunfire while 13others were injured due to either smoke inhalation or otherwise in chaos. A gunman wearing a gas mask and construction vest threw a smoke grenade and fired 33 times in a Brooklyn subway on Tuesday, according to the news agency AP. After hours of manhunt, The New York Police Department named the suspect-Frank James. However, Frank is still not captured by the police.  Over 20 people were reportedly injured in this incident.  10 people were directly hit by the gunfire while 13others were injured due to either smoke inhalation or otherwise in chaos. 1. The horrific shooting incident took place at a subway station in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning. Frank, who is believed to have carried the attack, set off two smoke bombs and fired 33 times in  Brooklyn subway.

2. After this terrifying incident, people were seen panicking when they deboarded the train at 36th St Sunset Park in Brooklyn.

3. Frank James, 62 years old, is named as the suspect of the crime. He is still not caught.

4. The New York Police has announced a reward of USD 50,000 dollars for giving the information about the suspect.

5. A key to the van which the suspect had rented was also found at the crime scene. The vehicle had been rented in Philadelphia. James had addresses in Philadelphia and Wisconsin, police officials said, news agency Reuters reported.

6. Frank fired 33 rounds from a Glock 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.

7. Security of New York mayor Eric Adams is increased as there are several social media posts of James which are linked to the New York mayor.

8. The commissioner of New York Police Department declined to term the incident as an act of terrorism. And why the incident took place is still unknown, according to police.

9. After this bone-chilling incident, the New York mayor opened up on the horrors of gun violence in the US. "Days like this are playing out too often in cities across America. It’s going to take an entire nation to speak out and push back", he said.

10. The incident exposed security lapses as the security cameras had malfunctioned at the station.
