Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari recently disclosed that he declined a proposal for power-sharing with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), emphasizing his commitment to securing the people's mandate before assuming leadership roles.

While addressing the rally attendees, Bilawal shared his party's decision to prioritize alliances with those who have garnered support from the electorate, refraining from seeking ministerial portfolios. Additionally, he announced his father, Asif Ali Zardari, as the PPP's presidential candidate, aiming to utilize his experience in resolving political tensions and fostering unity across the nation.

The PPP chairman underscored the need for political parties to prioritize addressing the public's concerns over personal gains, especially amidst the prevailing economic and political challenges. He criticized the growing societal divisions and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to address the country's issues.

In response to Bilawal's remarks, PML-N leader Ishaq Dar urged discretion regarding discussions between political parties, stressing that revealing negotiation details was inappropriate. Despite Bilawal's disclosure of the proposed power-sharing arrangement, Dar suggested that alternative formulas were still under consideration. He reaffirmed the ongoing discussions between the PPP and PML-N committees to finalize the terms of cooperation for forming the government.

Amidst the post-election controversies and allegations of rigging, various political parties continue their efforts to secure governmental positions and address the nation's challenges. While the PTI explores new alliances to bolster its parliamentary representation, the PPP remains steadfast in its commitment to democratic principles and the people's mandate.
