A spokesperson from the US Army revealed that approximately 100 American soldiers, who were initially deployed to the Middle East in response to the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack, have now returned to their respective home stations. Lt. Col. Rob Lodewick informed CNN that since October 2023, roughly 1,100 Army Soldiers were deployed from continental United States to the US Central Command Area of Responsibility (AOR), with about 100 having completed their missions and returned home.
According to Lodewick, there are still 1,300 soldiers who remain on standby with prepare-to-deploy orders.
However, the specifics regarding the identities of the soldiers who have returned to the US following their deployments have not been clarified.
Following the significant Hamas assault, approximately 1,200 service members were dispatched to the Middle East as part of a broader strategy to deter the conflict from spreading across the region. This deployment comprised personnel assigned to Patriot and THAAD batteries from Fort Liberty (North Carolina), Fort Bliss (Texas), and Fort Sill (Oklahoma), along with soldiers providing expertise in explosive ordnance disposal, communications, and various support capabilities.
