Blinken praised the enduring framework provided by the Constitution of India, describing it as the foundation for the world's largest democracy and a basis for global leadership. He sent his best wishes to the Indian people on this special occasion.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Spokesperson of the State Department, Vedant Patel, reiterated that India is a key strategic partner for the United States. He mentioned the close collaboration and coordination witnessed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visit to the United States in the past summer. Patel emphasized the ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration in various key areas between the two nations.
