AFC Bournemouth continued their impressive form, securing their sixth victory in seven matches and successfully ascending into the top half of the league table with a commanding 3-0 triumph over Fulham at the Vitality Stadium.
The encounter started evenly between both teams until a pivotal moment just after the 30-minute mark when Justin Kluivert’s close-range attempt was superbly blocked by Tosin Adarabioyo, denying Bournemouth an early lead.
However, it was Kluivert who eventually provided the Cherries with a halftime advantage just before the break. Alex Scott, making a notable appearance in only his fifth Premier League match due to injury, exhibited remarkable skill, bypassing four players before setting up Kluivert for a strike that eluded Bernd Leno and found the back of the net.
Despite Fulham dominating possession in the initial stages of the second half, they failed to convert their control into clear scoring opportunities. Their passive play came back to haunt them in the 61st minute when Joao Palhinha’s challenge on Antoine Semenyo in the box awarded Bournemouth their first penalty in 609 days. Dominic Solanke capitalized on the opportunity, notching his 12th Premier League goal of the season and joining Mohamed Salah in the second spot for the Castrol Golden Boot, trailing top scorer Erling Haaland by just two goals.
In the dying moments of the game, Luis Sinisterra added further shine to the scoreline with a splendid strike. This victory marked Bournemouth's inaugural Boxing Day triumph in the Premier League, propelling them six points adrift from the top six positions.
