Ronaldo Weighs in on 'Best Player Debate': 'People May Prefer Messi...'

The two have been a subject of never-ending debates between fans, who have been vigorously defending their favorite as the best player. For the first time in his career, Ronaldo admitted that some people might prefer Messi and other legends like Pele and Maradona.

He remains one of the most decorated players that football has ever witnessed. Having recently signed with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been at the helm of the football world for more than a decade and is, every season, rivaling Lionel Messi for the game's greatest individual accolades.

Even though this is recognized, Ronaldo maintains that he is the most complete footballer ever to have played the game. He stated that though fans have their own preferences, especially with Messi, he doesn't agree with anyone who thinks he's not a complete player.

"I think I'm the most complete football player that has ever existed. People could like Messi, Maradona, or Pele, and I respect that, but I am the most complete," Ronaldo said in an interview with LaSexta TV in Spain. "I'm the best player in football history. I haven't seen anyone better than me, and I'm saying that from the heart."

The Portuguese star also spoke about his long history with Messi, insisting that their rivalry was never personal. For 15 years, the two players have dominated the football scene together, but Ronaldo revealed that their relationship has always been respectful and cordial.

"I've never had a bad relationship with Messi. We've shared 15 years of awards, and we've always gotten along well," Ronaldo shared. "I remember I used to translate English for him, and it was very funny. He defended his club, and I defended mine; he defended his national team, and I defended mine. We gave each other feedback. There were years when he wanted to play every match, and so did I. It was a healthy competition."

When asked if he considers himself the greatest player in football history, Ronaldo responded in typical fashion, focusing on his exceptional goal-scoring abilities.

"Some things don't make sense. What does a goal-scorer mean? It's someone who puts the ball in the goal," he explained. "I think I'm the most complete player ever. I do everything in football. I'm good with my head, I take excellent free kicks, I have both a left and right foot, I'm strong, and I go out."

In conclusion, Ronaldo is definitely sure that nobody can surpass him in football.

"I think so, I haven't seen anybody better than me. I tell you this from the heart,"
