On another match, Raphinha's brilliant hat-trick led the way in an emphatic 5-1 victory over Bayern Munich to put an end to Barcelona's losing run in this fixture.

The Blaugrana, beaten in their last six meetings with the Bavarian side, got off to a dream start in the opening minute when the Brazilian international rounded Manuel Neuer after latching onto a Fermin Lopez through ball.

Harry Kane equalised with an acrobatic volley before former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski curled in a cool finish from Lopez's clever touch. Barça skipper Raphinha sealed the result to leave with the match ball, scoring two impressive strikes in the space of 11 minutes either side of half-time.

Elsewhere, substitute Marcus Thuram scored three minutes into added time to give Inter a 1-0 win over Young Boys. The Nerazzurri saw Marko Arnautovic superbly denied from the penalty spot by David von Ballmoos as the Young Boys keeper leapt to block the rebound from Denzel Dumfries.

In response, a fine solo run by Joel Monteiro ended with the home forward striking against the foot of a post. But on a night where the sides shared over 35 attempts on goal, it was Thuram who stole in to connect with Federico Dimarco's cross, denying Young Boys a first point of the league phase and securing Inter's second win.
