Juventus head coach Thiago Motta was left disappointed after his side played to a 1-1 draw against Cagliari at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.
There are matches that trigger irritation in you. Today has been one of those, because I'm sure we can still do better. We have to digest this draw and move forward. We had a lot of chances in the first half, after we went ahead we had to keep the balance and attack much more to put the game to bed, and we didn't succeed afterward after which they scored.
One must be precise and clinical to finish off the game, while we left some of that open today, something we have to work on because in the future there will be some moments like that. Today we almost got it all right: Cagliari gained their confidence step by step and sealed the equalizer, head coach Motta said after the match, during a press conference.
Once again, Juventus had to be content with a home Serie A draw, this time on the back of two penalties in each half ending 1-1.
A Savona effort on the right from an eighth-minute crossed over the top of Simon Scuffet's goal. Again three minutes later Gatti headed over a cross from the left to place the visiting defence under threat of scoring the opener.
However, Federico Gatti's headed effort proved crucial as after a VAR review it was deemed that Sebastiano Luperto had touched the ball with his hand and Juve were awarded a penalty. Vlahovic stepped up and slotted an unstoppable penalty into the bottom corner to give the Bianconeri the lead.
Juventus dominated the remainder of the game but could not be clinical enough, and they paid dearly in the last stages of the game, courtesy of a penalty awarded to the away side for a foul by Douglas Luiz.
And Razvan Marin equalised and it seemed at first that the Romanian team would steal a point, but the drama was not over yet. In the last ten minutes of the match, Conceicao got his second yellow card, while both teams struck the post: Adam Obert after Cagliari's counter-attack and Fagioli directly from a corner.
That ended the match with both teams away with a point.
