Such is Cristiano Ronaldo's record at Real Madrid, and nobody can match that. He netted 450 goals for Real, won four UEFA Champions League titles, and is decorated as 'Mr Champions League.'.
Los Blancos are known for their heroic finishes and crazy comebacks, most especially in the UEFA Champions League, where they have been able to craft moments into legends. Most recently, it was the 2023/24 semifinal win over Bayern Munich, but some on social media have begun to call the team "lucky." Ronaldo disagrees with this notion, as he says this club has a different kind of aura to them.
Real Madrid? People say that they are lucky in the UCL but no, they are not lucky. Its just the best club in the history of football and I was so happy to play there. I became the all-time scorer at the club, we won four Champions League, it was a pleasure! At the Bernabeu, there's a different kind of aura," Ronaldo said on his YouTube channel.
Kylian Mbappe's arrival at Real Madrid had been one of the biggest developments in football and marked him arguably as the most high-profile player to join the club since Ronaldo himself. Having scored a brace against Real Betis just before the international break, the French striker will be keen on continuing with his rich vein of form when domestic football resumes next week.
Ronaldo gave his thoughts on the arrival of Mbappe and what impact he could possibly have at the club.
I think Kylian is going to do great things at Real Madrid. The set-up of the club is very appealing, solid. They have an exceptional coach and president. He will do well there for sure," he added.
In a glittering career spanning over two decades, Ronaldo has cemented his place as one of the all-time great goal getters in football. With 5 goals in Sporting Lisbon, 145 in Manchester United, 450 in Real Madrid, 101 in Juventus, and 68 in Al-Nassr, he has succeeded in breaking numerous records.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner also identified a couple of players who he thinks could go on to win the prestigious award in the future, including young sensation of Barcelona, Lamine Yamal.
"Kylian Mbappé can win the Ballon d'Or for the next few years, probably Haaland, Bellingham. Also, Lamine Yamal. I think this new generation has a lot of potential," Ronaldo noted.
The 38-year-old star also notched 900 career goals for club and country during the current international break, something no one has ever done.
