Brentford has successfully secured the loan signing of left-back Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur until the conclusion of the season, as announced by the Premier League club.
Reguilon, who had previously been on loan at Manchester United during the first half of the campaign, contributing in 12 appearances under the management of Erik ten Hag, will now offer valuable cover for Brentford at the left-back position. This necessity arises due to injuries sidelining both Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey.
The 27-year-old defender brings a wealth of Premier League experience, having made a total of 61 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United since his arrival in 2020 from Real Madrid. During this period, he has kept 13 clean sheets and provided eight goal contributions.
Reguilon's international debut for Spain took place in 2020, where he made a significant impact by registering an assist in a 4-0 victory over Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League. Since then, he has earned an additional five caps for his country, showcasing his prowess on the international stage.
