Djokovic was dominant as he won four out of the eight break points he got and did not face any break point from the South African who seems to have plateaued after a good start to his career. The Serb won 84 per cent of the points on his first serve and 73 per cent of the points on second serve.
Wimbledon 2021: Alize shows fifth seed Bianca the door in opening round

This is the second time in three weeks that Alize has beaten the 21-year-old Bianca, seeded fifth here. The Frenchwoman had won their second-round clash in Berlin a fortnight ago, going on to reach her first grass-court semi-final. Alize will meet the winner of the match between Greet Minner of Belgium and Alja Tomljanovic of Australia.
Wimbledon 2021: Serena Williams retires from Wimbledon opener after injury

Arriving on court with her right thigh heavily strapped, the No.6 seed was leading Aliaksandra by a break in the first set at 3-1. Serving at 15-15, Serena slipped briefly at the back of the court and was finally forced to retire in the seventh game. While she never fell to the ground, Serena requested for a physio after losing serve in the fifth game, and received off-court medical timeout before returning to the court.
Wimbledon 2021: Lucky Federer enters Round 2 after opponent gets injured

The 39-year-old, who has won 20 Grand Slam titles, bagged the first set 6-4 before losing the next two 6-7(3) and 3-6. He came back to win the fourth 6-2 in a games that lasted two hours and 44 minutes. World No. 41 Mannarino, who was able to get through to the fourth set with the injury before pulling out, had slipped behind the baseline which led to the injury. He also received on-court treatment on the knee.
Wimbledon: Ashleigh, Karolina enter second round

While Ashleigh defeated Carla Suárez Navarro 6-1, 6-7(1), 6-1, eighth seed Karolina beat French Open semi-finalist Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia 7-5, 6-4. Ashleigh, who will lead a strong Australian tennis contingent at the Tokyo Olympics, romped to win the first set but then lost the second in the tie-break as her Spanish opponent won the tie-breaker 7-1. The Aussie, however, crushed Carla in the final set.
Zverev powers into Wimbledon 2nd round with easy win

The 24-year-old slammed 20 aces and won 77 per cent of his first-service points to progress into the second round in 94 minutes. In the French Open semi-finals this month, Zverev had lost to Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas, who lost his first-round match to American Frances Tiafoe on Monday. Zverev will next face the winner of the match between Slovakia's Norbert Gombos and American Tennys Sandgren.
Wimbledon: Sloane dispatches former champion Petra in women's singles

The American took just 77 minutes to hammer her opponent from the Czech Republic, who won here in 2011 and 2014. Sloane was beaten in the very first game of the match, but then never lost serve again and broke the left-hander thrice during the course of the match.
