Maurya tells Rahul - Bura na mano, BJP is coming back

"During Holi, we often say 'Bura na mano Holi hai' and this is what I would like to tell Rahul Gandhi. My message to him is 'Bura na mano Holi hai and BJP is coming back to power again'," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function. Referring to Rahul Gandhi's remark on the "end of democracy in India" in London, Maurya said while democracy has not ended in India.

'Atiq Ahmad to be brought to UP next week'

UP to set new record in sugarcane payments to farmers

The milestone has been achieved in the six years since the Yogi Adityanath government came to power for the first time in March 2017. According to sugar industry and cane development minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan, Rs 65 crore for the current crushing season was transferred to farmers on Monday after which the total dues paid over the last six years crossed the Rs 2 lakh crore.
UP to get new Vidhan Sabha soon

He said he was optimistic that the 18th Assembly, whose term ends in 2027, will be able to have a few sittings in the new building. The Speaker said funds have been set aside for this project and work will begin soon. The UP government is likely to hire a consultant to design the new Vidhan Sabha.

Azam Khan, son get 2 years in jail

A special MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad has sentenced senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan to two years in jail in a 2008 case. The two were, however, later granted bail. A case was registered against Azam Khan, his son, and seven others at Chhajlet police station of Moradabad district on January 29, 2008, after SP leaders staged a dharna on the road to protest checking of Azam Khan's car by the police.
