The clash cantered around the US policy on TikTok and whether it should be banned due to its Chinese ownership.

Both Democratic and Republican candidates face broad unfavourable perceptions, and President Biden's public approval rating remains consistently below the 50 percent threshold. This month, it is hovering around 39 percent, marking a concerning proximity to his lowest rating of 36 percent recorded in mid-2022. 

However, the third debate will not feature North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, who met the criteria for the prior two debates, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, present in the initial debate but absent from the second one. In addition, former Vice President Mike Pence, who initially qualified for the first two debates, exited the Republican primary race last month.

Various polls indicate that while the competition between Trump and Biden remains tight, a significant portion of voters believes both candidates are too old to run for the presidency, with Biden currently aged 81 and Trump at 77.

In five out of the six crucial battleground states, President Biden lags behind his potential Republican adversary, Donald Trump, according to a new poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College.

Nikki Haley, the only woman running for the Republican nomination, had a six percentage-point lead over Joe Biden in a CNN/SSRS poll released on Thursday, with the President trailing Haley 49 per cent to 43 per cent in a hypothetical match between the two.

The 38-year-old who has vowed to pardon Trump if elected to power in 2024, told ABC News that "there is a difference between a bad judgment and a crime". “The Presidential Records Act was nowhere mentioned in that 49-page indictment in the documents case. I think the Espionage Act under which Trump was charged is the most un-American statute in our history,” Ramaswamy said.

Trump chose through his Truth Social site to lash out at Pence, his former Vice President and GOP presidential primary opponent, calling him "delusional" and “not a very good person".

America becomes great when innovators, entrepreneurs, working people with skills and those committed to using common sense and reason run this country," Ayyadurai said.

Hirsh Vardhan Singh, 38, introduced himself as a lifelong Republican and an "America First constitutional carry and pro-life conservative who helped restore the conservative wing of New Jersey’s Republican Party starting in 2017" in a video message posted on Twitter on Thursday.
