Yogi Adityanath breaks 'Noida jinx'
After becoming Chief Minister in 2017, Yogi Adityanath has visited Nodia multiple times to inaugurate, lay the foundation of several development projects and administrative work. The Noida jinx was a talking point in the Uttar Pradesh power corridor after Chief Minister Veer Bahadur Singh had to step down in 1988 within a few days after his return from the city.
BJP leading in 241 seats in UP, SP ahead in 103
The ruling BJP was leading in 241 seats and Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP) was ahead in 103 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission trends on Thursday showed. Early vote share percentages showed -- BJP has 42.31 per cent votes counted, SP 31.70 per cent, RLD 3.36 per cent, BSP 12.88 per cent and Congress 2.56 per cent.
Yogi Adityanath leads from Gorakhpur Urban
Initial counting of votes cast in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections revealed that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leading from the Gorakhpur Urban constituency, as per Election Commission sources. The initial trends available at 9.30 a.m. were mostly from postal ballots. According to the ABP C-Voter exit poll, the ruling BJP is set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh with a tally of 236 seats.
Polling begins for final phase of UP Assembly elections
This phase will bring the curtain down on one of the most fiercely contested elections in the state. Polling is being held in a total of 54 Assembly constituencies of Purvanchal, spread across nine districts. The districts where polling is being held include Azamgarh, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra. The counting for all the phases will be done on March 10.

A Varanasi BJP functionary claims that Prime Minister Modi's campaign has turned the tide in favour of the party and the saffron party will repeat 2017 performance by winning all the seats of the district like it did in 2017.

Since the last 21 years, no party has returned to power in the state, and if bookies' prediction comes true, then the BJP will create a new trend. The bookies said that they had predicted that after early losses, the BJP would emerge winner with a majority.
UP records 53.90% turnout in penultimate phase of Assembly polls
The voter turnout figure was approximate trend as the data from some polling stations takes time to reach it. As per the EC data, in Ambedkar Nagar district registered 62.22 per cent turnout, Ballia 53.93 per cent, Balrampur 48.64 per cent, Basti 56.81%, Deoria 52.30 per cent, Gorakhpur 55.17%, Kushinagar 56.08 per cent, Maharajganj 59.28% , Sant Kabir Nagar 54.39%, and Siddharthnagar district recorded 50.19%.
