The show that premiered on April 23, 2016 had so far seen three seasons with the third season wrapped up on June 5. It started with Kapil and his team of comedians, including Kiku Sharda, Sunil Grover, Sumona Chakravarti, Chandan Prabhakar and Ali Asgar. The show has entertained the audience with the fun banter between Kapil and Bollywood celebrities, who usually visit the show to promote their latest film.

He says: "The genesis of the film began with my teacher, who used to teach me Tai-Chi, which is a little different from Yoga. He is from Nagaland; Deepak Das is his name. A lot of times, I used to ask him, 'where are you from?', 'what is your culture like? the food you eat?' among other things."

He is coming as a special guest with his son Shahid Kapoor and co-star Mrunal Thakur to promote their movie 'Jersey'. During a conversation, host Kapil Sharma asked Pankaj Kapoor if Shahid was mischievous or he was more mischievous than his son.

Director, producer and actor Satish Kaushik is appearing as a special guest with Annu Kapoor and Rumi Jaffery on 'The Kapil Sharma Show'. As the trio are coming for 'Dosti Special' episode, Satish Kaushik gets nostalgic on the show and recalls a few childhood memories with his father.

As per the reports making rounds on the internet, Sumona Chakravarti, who was seen playing the character of Bhuri on Kapil Sharma’s show is leaving the show. A report by NDTV suggested that Sumona Chakravarti has been roped in to host a Bengali travel show titled Shonar Bengal. Throughout the reality show, the actress will be seen exploring the state and will also share some lesser-known facts about the region and its people.

"Kapil has a month long USA tour planned mid-June and would be unavailable to shoot. The team thus decided to take a break during that same time. A few episodes, however, will be pre-shot to continue entertaining fans before they go on a break," the report reads. Earlier also, The Kapil Sharma Show went off the air when Kapil decided to take a break for his wife Ginni Chatrath, their daughter Anayra and their newborn son Trishaan.

The recent controversy around 'The Kapil Sharma Show' which emerged from a tweet by 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri, led to a massive backlash for the comedy show with Twitterati asking to boycott the show. Now veteran actor Anupam Kher, who stars in a key role in the film, has put out a statement clarifying the misunderstanding.

Bollywood's action superstar Akshay Kumar recalled how his late father, who would diligently watch all of his son's films, many times, on 'The Kapil Sharma Show'. He came on the show as a special guest with Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kriti Sanon and director Farhad Samji to promote their new and upcoming film 'Bachchan Pandey'.
