Tesla releases white paper on Dojo supercomputing platform

CEO Elon Musk teased the paper as "more important than it may seem", reports Electrek. In the abstract, the automaker is describing a new standard to work with its computing platform. "This standard specifies Tesla arithmetic formats and methods for the new 8-bit and 16-bit binary floating-point arithmetic in computer programming environments for deep learning neural network training," according to the report.
Musk says Starship may be ready for orbital launch next month

According to TechCrunch, SpaceX will require approvals from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to make the attempt, as it has done for all of its previous Starship test flights from its development location outside of Brownsville, Texas. The FAA requires SpaceX to demonstrate that it has taken all necessary security measures to ensure that there is minimal risk if something goes wrong during the launch attempts.

According to a new study, based on MIT Advanced Vehicle Technology data, drivers tend to look at things non-related to driving more often and for longer periods of time when Autopilot is activated. "The model replicates the observed glance pattern across drivers. The model's components show that off-road glances were longer with Autopilot active than without and that their frequency characteristics changed," the study indicated.
Tesla planning wider release of its 'Full Self-Driving' software

According to The Verge, the news comes as an older version of the software leaked online. Musk said on Twitter that the company would begin rolling out FSD version 10 to customers in its early access programme at midnight on September 10. Then, the software "will need another few weeks after that for tuning (and) bug fixes," which Musk estimated would take four weeks.

This week, Ark Invest released a new note claiming a $3,000 base stock price target by 2025 for Tesla, reports Electric. In its valuation models, Ark Invest believes that Tesla is going to deliver between 5 and 10 million vehicles as soon as 2025. That's a significant ramp considering Tesla likely will deliver less than 1 million vehicles this year, the report said.

The Model S Plaid, Tesla's fastest production vehicle, was sharing the "Green Hell" with a 2022 Corvette Z06 prototype and a BMW M8 test-mule, according to Road and Track, who originally reported the crash. The Model S went out of control in the Klostertalkurve in kilometre 14, which comprises a series of sharp, paper clip-like turns before extending into a straightaway.
Tesla's iOS app gets improved visuals, enhanced widgets

Although the core functionality of the app remains unchanged, the visuals have been overhauled, according to NotaTeslaApp. However, there are a few new features, including the ability to be able to send commands to a Tesla vehicle from an iPhone without needing to wake the car up first. Additionally, users can unlock multiple Tesla vehicles using their phone key.
