Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have more supporters in Pakistan than they do in India. At a campaign rally in South Delhi for BJP candidate Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from Sangam Vihar, Shah mounted a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, the Congress, and the opposition coalition.
In reference to the reported assault on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at Arvind Kejriwal's official residence, Shah questioned the ability of a Chief Minister who couldn't ensure the safety of a female MP in her own home to safeguard women in Delhi.
Shah also charged CM Kejriwal with blowing his trumpet worldwide on his achievements while diverting a large chunk of the Delhi budget towards advertisements.
The Home Minister also charged the AAP government in Delhi with scams in the liquor policies, Jal Board, spurious medicines, and the panic buttons fitted in DTC buses.
He said while only the liquor scam has been probed, the rest remain untouched.
Attacking the AAP government, Shah termed the Kejriwal regime as one of "Ghotala" (scams), "Ghooskhori" (bribery), and "Ghaplebaji" (corruption).
Terming Kejriwal a U-turn expert, Shah attacked his alliances with what he calls corrupt parties—the Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress, and RJD—despite the AAP leader's former stance on fighting against corruption.
Shah also targeted the AAP-Congress alliance, accusing Kejriwal of once vowing to oust the Congress government from Delhi and jail its leaders, only to now ally with them for elections.
“Kejriwal used to say he would never support corrupt individuals, but today he sits with all the corrupt parties such as the Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress, and RJD,” said Amit Shah.
Making fun of Kejriwal for refusing to step down as CM when so many legal hassles are against him, Shah equated him with other leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jayalalithaa, who resigned before being sent to prison.
In a mocking tone, Shah said that Kejriwal seems to have got himself glued to his chair with Fevicol, and this bond would break on June 4 when the BJP is poised to sweep all seven seats in Delhi.
