Terrorist killed in Kashmir encounter refused to surrender

The Army said on receiving specific intelligence from the police about the presence of a terrorist in the vicinity of village Rakhama, a joint operation was launched by the Army and police at 11.30 p.m. on September 30. "The cordon was established by 2.00 a.m on today (October 1). One terrorist was located. Multiple appeals were made to the terrorist to surrender but he opened fire on the troops at about 5.00 a.m." the Army said

According to DCP Pramod Khushwaha of the special cell, the militant identified as Mangkholam Kipgen was arrested from Dwarka in the national capital. The police said Kipgen was wanted in various cases of kidnapping for ransom, arms snatching, firing, extortion and robbery registered in various police stations of Manipur.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) had busted a major terror module and arrested six terror suspects. In this crackdown, the police had recovered IEDs from the poultry farm of the man identified as Shahrukh. He claimed innocence told he was offered a job by arrested terror suspect Zeeshan and in lieu of the offer he was asked to keep certain articles at the poultry farm.

The sources have revealed that the security agencies in Kashmir have tracked the movement and presence of ISKP commander Munsib who has been reportedly coordinating with various terror outfits for this purpose. He has been quite active on social media for the past few months, they added. Around 25 youths from Kerala have recently gone to Afghanistan and had joined the ISKP cadre.

Infiltration bid foiled at LoC in J&K's Poonch, terrorist killed

The Army said that in the early hours a terrorist from across the LoC made an attempt to infiltrate in the Poonch sector. "Alert Army troops detected the infiltration bid by effective use of the integrated surveillance grid," the Army said. "On being challenged by the Army troops, there ensued a fierce firefight with the terrorist in which one terrorist was neutralised, and his body along with an AK-47 rifle has been recovered."
