Prigozhin's press service said in a post on Telegram that the burial ceremony took place on Tuesday in a closed format, and those who wish to pay respect to him may visit the cemetery in St. Petersburg, Xinhua news agency reported.

The officials said "the identities of all 10 dead correspond to the list stated in the flight sheet" of the aircraft. It went down north of Moscow on Wednesday several minutes after takeoff. On board were Prigozhin and some of his most senior and trusted lieutenants, media reports said.

Russia rejected the inclusion of geopolitical Para 13, on the basis that it does not conform to the G20 mandate.

"As part of the investigation into the plane crash in the Tver Region, molecular genetic examinations have been completed. Based on their results, the identities of all 10 victims have been established, they correspond to the list stated in the flight manifest," the committee wrote on Telegram.

In a social media post, the Ministry said that nine of the drones were shot down and the remaining 33 were jammed by electronic warfare equipment and crashed without reaching their targets, CNN reported. “Overnight, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles on Russian Federation territory has been thwarted,” the post added. 

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the aircraft, owned by Prigozhin, was flying from Moscow to St Petersburg with seven passengers and three crew, BBC reported.

Besides him, nine other people on board were also dead in the crash. Prigozhin was on the passenger list but it remains unclear if he was on board.

The drone attack on Shaykovka air base in Russia's Kaluga region left “at least one aircraft damaged", CNN quoted Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson for Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, as saying to local media on Monday. "At least one plane is damaged. As in most cases, the Russian regime is trying to hide the true extent of losses and damage," Yusov said. 

Although the video posted on Telegram channels linked to the mercenary group is yet to be officially verified, it shows Prigozhin in combat gear, saying the group is making Africa "more free", reports the BBC. In the video, he says Wagner is exploring for minerals as well as fighting Islamist militants and other criminals.

The Luna-25 mission, spearheaded by Russia's state space agency Roskosmos, encountered communication failure at 11:57 GMT on Saturday, shortly after being redirected into the pre-landing orbit. Roskosmos disclosed that the spacecraft deviated unpredictably from its intended trajectory and ultimately met its demise upon impact with the lunar surface.
