Maxwell to be available for RCB's game against Mumbai Indians on April 9

Maxwell has missed the first couple of matches for RCB and will also miss the third game against RR on Tuesday as he is contracted to Cricket Australia (CA). The 33-year-old, will however be available for selection for RCB's fourth match in IPL 2022 on April 9 against Mumbai Indians. "From a Cricket Australia point of view, no contracted players are available before the 6th of April.

In a low scoring thriller, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday trounced Kolkata knight riders (KKR) by 3 wickets. RCB dominated  with the bowl from the start. They didn't gave a chance to any of the rival batsmen to set in. Same thing KKR did with the bowl.

In a see-saw, low-scoring thriller in IPL 2022, where bowlers called the shots, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets at DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday. After bowling out Kolkata for just 128, Bangalore lost their first three batters in power-play. But critical knocks from Sherfane Rutherford (28), David Willey (18), Shahbaz Ahmed (27), Dinesh Karthik (14 not out) and Harshal Patel (10 not out) took Bangalore home with four balls remaining.

In a high scoring thriller , the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday trounced the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 5 wickets. It was the third match of this season. The match witnessed 27 sixes and 200+ runs were  chased.

"The only two people who come to mind for me are KL (Rahul) and Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal). KL Rahul was at RCB in 2013 along with Karun and Mayank. KL Rahul was never a guy who was looked at as a T20 specialist. He was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015 and Avinash Vaidya was our manager before. He approached me because he was in touch with KL Rahul, and he was not getting any game time. And I had seen him play for India," said Kohli on 'The RCB Podcast'.

"I was in Malaysia for the World Cup, and I remember the day when the drafts were happening. The Under-19 dynamic was a little different because we rightly had a huge pay gap. That was the only time there was cap on how much can a player be picked for if you have not played for India. Even that moment, for players like us, was so amazing because when they revealed the amount we got picked for, we are surprised and couldn't believe it," said Kohli in one of the episodes of the podcast.

Unlike the present scenario where Under-19 cricketers are allowed to take part in IPL auction, earlier uncapped players were used to get picked via drafts. As per the earlier IPL draft policy, every franchise had the option of picking two U-19 players and there was a salary cap set for them. Kohli was leading the India U-19 team in the World Cup in Malaysia when the draft process for the inaugural edition of the IPL took place in 2008.

Virat Kohli shared an emotional message on the official YouTube channel of RCB, saying his best with RCB is yet to come. "I will be there with my heart and soul for RCB. The journey continues. When I was contacted, (I) did not have any second thoughts at all. It has been an amazing journey over the years, three more years with the franchise that means so much to me," said Kohli in a video posted on the official YouTube channel of RCB. "I believe the best is yet to come and I have a special feeling about what is to come next season onwards," he added.
