Luxury home sales in Delhi-NCR up 54% in February: Report
A total of 1,095 luxury units were sold in Delhi-NCR during the month under review, compared to 709 units sold during the same period of last year. The report also noted that luxury home sales witnessed an increase in most of the top markets in February.
Nearly 72,000 housing units sold in January-March: Report
"Quarterly sales volumes have steadily improved since Q2 2020 and have surpassed the 2019 pre-Covid quarterly sales average in Q1 2021. Considering that this is the second consecutive quarter to cross the 2019 quarterly sales average, we believe that the market is recovering well, if not having done so already. 71,963 units were sold during Q1 2021, 44 per cent more than in Q1 2020," it said.
Average flat size increases in top cities in 2020: Report
Data released by Anarock Property Consultants shows that average apartment sizes in the top seven cities have risen by 10 per cent on a yearly basis, to 1,150 square feet in 2020 from 1,050 square feet in 2019. The trend in past four years trends indicate that average apartment sizes were reducing y-o-y since 2016.

Market participants expect a rise in demand in both residential and commercial real estate going ahead. Anuj Puri, Chairman of Anarock Property Consultants noted that the Indian residential real estate market proved its resilience in 2020, and 2021 holds promise for commercial office and residential real estate, as well as warehousing and data centers.

Despite the overall growth, the National Capital Region (NCR) was the only major market where the sales decreased by 3 per cent. Other cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune saw sales going up by 16 per cent, 3 per cent, 24 per cent, 15 per cent, 35 per cent and 13 per cent respectively.

Around 84 per cent of home owners wanted ready-to-move-in or resale houses. The survey showed that budget continued to remain the most important determinant in terms of choosing a property. The percentage of people looking to buy a house price over Rs 80 lakh has jumped substantially with almost 30 per cent buyers having this budget as compared to 17 per cent last year.
