He said that the parties which did not work for the welfare of people while in power are now preaching the state governments like Telangana which consistently ranked high in performance.In a response to Priyanka Gandhi’s Telangana visit for a political rally on youth issues, KTR, as the leader is popularly known, sough to remind the Congress of its "decades-long history of failures.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who held a series of public rallies on Tuesday, is scheduled to address three public meetings during the day.The national leaders are expected to spar over the Congress manifesto promising to take decisive action against organisations spreading hatred like the "Bajrang Dal" and the banned Popular Front of India (PFI).

The meeting, held at a hotel, was also attended by prominent leaders of the Lingayat community. During the meeting, Priyanka Gandhi gave a call to ensure Shettar's victory. He will contest the May 10 Assembly election from Hubli-Dharwad Central constituency. Notably, Union Home Minister and former BJP president Amit Shah.

On her second day of tour, she continued her poignant attack on BJP. Addressing a poll rally in Sringeri of Chikkamagaluru district, Priyanka Gandhi stated, "In 1978, when Indira ji (late ex-PM Indira Gandhi, her grandmother) came to Chikkmagaluru, it was a period of struggle for her.

After facing defeat in Rae Bareli in the 1978 elections, Priyanka Gandhi's grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had contested from Chikmagalur Lok Sabha seat in bypolls and won. Priyanka Vadra will visit historical Rambhapuri and Sringeri Mutts in the district and campaign in Balehonnur town in N R Pura taluk.

Her visit, which comes after the two-day tour of senior leader Rahul Gandhi, is likely to galvanise the spirits of party workers and supporters. This is Priyanka Gandhi's first visit to the state after the announcement of the elections. She earlier visited Karnataka on the occasion of International Women's Day, during which major announcements of the Gruha Lakshmi Yojana.

The rally, tentatively scheduled between April 20-25, will come soon after the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)'s major public meeting scheduled here on April 16. "The exact dates of the rally shall be finalised next week at a party meeting," state Congress chief Nana Patole said.

"Met my Mentor Rahul ji and Friend, Philosopher, Guide Priyanka ji in New Delhi Today," Sidhu said in a tweet. "You can jail me, intimidate me, block all my financial accounts but my commitment for Punjab and my leaders will neither flinch nor back an inch!!" Sidhu was released prematurely on April 1, with a remission of 45 days in his prison term.

Priyanka Gandhi said, "It's time to wake up and unite to take on the corrupt and undemocratic government which is trying to silence every voice which is against him, whose PSUs are being sold. They are not Rahul Gandhi's property, but they are the property of the country." She alleged that all resources of the country were being sold.
