No nation can be built without rule of law: Ajit Doval
Addressing the trainee officers of Indian Police Service (IPS) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) here, Ajit Doval said they have a vital role to play in nation building through enforcement of laws. "Quintessence of democracy does not lie in the ballot box. It lies in the laws made by people who are elected through those ballot boxes. You are the enforcers of laws. Laws are not as good as they are made. Laws are as good as they are executed and implemented and the service that people are able to get out of it," he said after reviewing the colourful Dikshant Parade.

"We have been keenly watching the developments in Afghanistan. These have important implications not only for the people of Afghanistan but also for its neighbouring countries and the region" said Doval while chairing the eight nations NSA-level meeting on Afghanistan. In his opening remark NSA said, "I am confident that our deliberation will be productive, useful and will contribute to help the people of Afghanistan and enhance our collective security."
India to host Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan on Nov 10
According to a statement issued by the MEA, this National Security Advisors' level dialogue on Afghanistan will witness an expanded participation of Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, who will all be represented by their respective National Security Advisers or Secretaries of the Security Councils. Pakistan has refused to participate in this event.

The meeting, which will be chaired by India's NSA Ajit Doval next Wednesday, got a huge response from the participating countries as Iran and Russia have confirmed their participation. The officials, aware of this development, said that there has been an overwhelming response to India's invitation.
