Modi will lay foundation stone and dedicate to the nation multiple sewerage infrastructure projects in West Bengal worth over Rs 2,550 crore. He will also flag off Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri and will also inaugurate Joka-Taratala stretch of Purple Line of Kolkata Metro.

Speaking to reporters here, Prahlad Modi said, "Five of us were there in the car. After the accident, people took us to the hospital. We were treated well and I want to thank everyone in this regard." "The accident should not have taken place, but it somehow happened. There was no mistake on the part of the driver who was also huryt," he said.

The Prime Minister spent almost one-and-a-half hours with his mother, brothers and discussed her health issues with the doctors along with the future course of action to be undertaken. After he left the hospital, BJP's Rajya Sabha member Jugalji Lokhandwala told mediapersons that Heeraben is recovering fast, and is likely to be discharged from the hospital in a day or two.

According to the hospital, her condition is currently stable. In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi wrote that the love between a mother and son is eternal and priceless and extended support to Modi in his difficult times. He expressed hope that Heeraben will get well soon. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also wished her a speedy recovery through a tweet.

Hospital Director R.K. Patel in a health bulletin said, "Hiraba is admitted to the hospital and her condition is stable." Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and his Chief Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan reached the hospital to inquire about her health

The hospital sources said that information on the health conditions of the injured persons were being given to the Prime Minister's Office on a daily basis.

In a series of tweets, he wrote: "My recent tweet was misconstrued. It hurt the sentiments of the people. To them I say sorry. have immense respect & pride for our diverse cultures. I regret the hurt caused by my unintentional remark. I reiterate my pledge to work to uphold our constitutional values always. As a soldier of the party, I have always followed the path laid down by our Constitution which calls for respecting and honouring our diversity.

"Rahul Gandhi should worry about his party. Our Army under the strong leadership of PM Modi carried out surgical strike, and Balakot air strike and gave a befitting reply in Doklam. People like Rahul Gandhi question the Army and insult them," said Mr Thakur.

The Centre has invited Chief Ministers of all north and east Indian states including West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee, Bihar's Nitish Kumar, Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath and others. Sources have said that Banerjee is scheduled to participate in this event but Nitish Kumar will skip it.

Prime Minister Modi participated in a 'Shabad Kirtan' performed by 300 'Baal Kirtanis' approximately.He is also scheduled to flag off a march-past led by 3,000 children.On the historic occasion, the Centre has organised an interactive and participative programmes all over the country to inform and educate the citizens, especially the young children, about the story of exemplary courage of the Sahibzadas.
