Centrum Broking gives 'buy' call for Interglobe Aviation

It has pegged the target price of Rs 2,284, as against its current market price of Rs 1,818. India's domestic air traffic has nearly reached its pre-Covid levels and international traffic is fast scaling up after the resumption of scheduled international travel in March 2022. "Fares meanwhile have strengthened from the lows of February 2022 and have offset the incremental burden of higher fuel costs," the brokerage said in a note.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approvals, Elbers will join IndiGo on or before October 1, succeeding Ronojoy Dutta, who has decided to retire on September 30, after guiding IndiGo through the turbulent Covid period.
Specially-abled child boarding row: DGCA to issue show-cause notice to IndiGo

"In view of this, it has been decided to issue a show-cause notice to IndiGo to explain as to why suitable enforcement action should not be taken against them for the non-conformances," said a statement issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The DGCA had decided to conduct a fact-finding probe into the matter. As per reports, it had constituted a three-member team for the same.
IndiGo to launch 100 domestic flights from Sunday onwards

Airline major IndiGo will launch 100 flights connecting key domestic metro cities and regional centres, starting from March 27, 2022. Accordingly, the airline will introduce flights on 20 exclusive routes effective March 27, 2022. Besides, it will commence Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) route from Prayagraj-Lucknow on the same day. Furthermore, it plans to re-commence 16 exclusive flights.
IndiGo commences flights to Thailand after 2 yrs

Airline major IndiGo on Tuesday commenced flights to Thailand after two years. Accordingly, the airline will operate these flights under air bubble agreement till March 26, 2022, and thereafter as part of its scheduled commercial international operations. Besides, the flights will connect Bangkok with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru and Phuket with Delhi and Mumbai.
SpiceJet, Indigo shares fly as Centre allows scheduled int'l flights

Shares of Spicejet and Interglobe Aviation – which operates airline Indigo – rose sharply on Wednesday after the Centre's announcement to lift the ban on scheduled international flights. India will allow resumption of scheduled commercial international passenger services from March 27. Last month, India's civil aviation regulator had extended the ban on scheduled international commercial flights till "further orders".
InterGlobe Aviation shares decline after co-founder Rakesh Gangwal resigns

The shares of the airline settled at Rs 2,079 on Monday, down 1.8 per cent from its previous close. In early trade, it fell as low as 4 per cent, data showed. Through a regulatory filing on Friday after the market hours, the airline said its non-executive, non-independent director and co-founder Rakesh Gangwal has tendered resignation from the company's board with immediate effect.

The appointment comes at a time when the Tata Group has taken over Air India and a new budget carrier, Akasa Air, is slated to commence operations.
