Indigo, Virgin Atlantic expand codeshare, open up new destinations

Air passengers will now be able to book one ticket which allows them to connect seamlessly to London and beyond from destinations such as Varanasi, Srinagar, Mopa and Lucknow, through Delhi and Mumbai. In total, the partnership is adding 18 destinations to its existing portfolio making it a total of 34.
At 55.9%, IndiGo led market share in Feb; airlines received 359 complaints

In February 2023, a total of 359 passenger-related complaints were received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of February has been around 0.3 per cent. As per the latest data issued for February by aviation regulator DGCA, IndiGo carried 67.42 lakh passengers during the month, followed by Air India (10.76 lakh) and Vistara (10.53 lakh).
Indigo appoints Mark Sutch for CarGo International as Chief Commercial Officer

Mark brings with him 25 years of airline industry experience across different verticals, including extensive cargo experience. Mark's most recent assignment was as Chief Commercial Officer with CMA CGM Air Cargo based in Marseille. Prior to that he was with Cathay Pacific Airways, including being based for five years in Mumbai as the airline's Regional General Manager for South Asia, Middle East and Africa, said the airline on Thursday.

Also, in January 2023, a total of 418 passenger-related complaints were received by scheduled domestic airlines. The number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of January 2023 has been around 0.33. As per the latest data of January by the aviation regulator DGCA, Indigo carried 68.47 lakh air passengers during the month of January, while Air India and Vistara carried 11.55 lakh and 11.05 lakh air passengers, respectively.
DGCA orders probe as Indigo passenger reaches Udaipur instead of Patna

The incident took place on January 30 when passenger Afsar Hussain had to board an Indigo flight to Patna from Delhi airport. However, he boarded the Indigo flight to Udaipur by mistake and he realised this only after reaching there. Sources said that it is a matter of investigation that why his credentials were not checked properly while he was boarding the wrong flight.
IndiGo reports net profit of Rs 1,422 crore in Q3

The airline reported a net profit of Rs 1,422 crore, compared to net profit of Rs 1,298 million (Rs 129.8 crore) as compared to the same period last year marking over 10 times growth. As per the results declared by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd on Friday, total income for the quarter ended December 2022 was Rs 154,102 million, an increase of 62.6 per cent over the same period last year.
Indigo expands its fleet to 300 aircraft

Speaking on the occasion, Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo said: "We are excited to announce that our fleet size now stands at 300 aircraft, giving wings to our ambitions. We have recently expanded operations across west, east, and north-east India as well as the middle east.

The argument started on the airline's Istanbul-Delhi flight over food. Reacting to the issue, in a statement, the airline said that they were looking into the incident and assured that "customers' comfort has always been our top priority.Sources said that aviation regulator DGCA was looking into the matter.About the incident, a passenger in the flight Er. Gurpreet Singh Hans said on Twitter he unfortunately booked a ticket on the IndiGo flight.
Indigo tops with 55.7% market share, Vistara 2nd, AI 3rd in Nov

As per the data for November of aviation regulator DGCA released on Monday, Indigo carried 65.01 lakh air passengers during the month while Vistara carried 10.87 lakh. Air India was at third position with 10.63 lakh passengers and 9.1 per cent market share. Similarly, Go Air, with 8.70 lakh passengers, had a market share of 7.5 per cent during November.
IndiGo seeks final approval from DGCA to wet lease B777 aircraft

"We are working closely with the authorities to ensure all the required steps to obtain the approvals are completed well in time and will consider the earliest the go-live date for these aircraft in line with expected receipt of requisite approvals. This wet lease solution will also enable us to better utilize our A321 narrow body fleet to continue our network deployment in light of the global supply chain issues," said the Indigo Spokesperson.
