'Pathaan', a spy action thriller, was the highest grossing movie ever in Hindi for months now.  However, there was chatter whether 'Gadar 2' or Shah Rukh's latest release 'Jawan' would make the record by dethroning 'Pathaan' on taking the top spot. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh on Thursday took to X, to set the record. 

With Tamil director Atlee's vigilante actioner 'Jawan', starring SRK, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupati, crossing the box office collections of the year's other big hit, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2', in just nine days, SRK now carries the distinction of leading this year's two certified blockbusters -- 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'.

But to achieve this, Asha Bhosle and Rahul Dev Burman had to surmount a major "hurdle" -- creating a new identity distinct from their illustrious and established kin: elder sibling Lata Mangeshkar and father Sachin Dev Burman. And both succeeded -- with a combination of luck, support, their own undeniable virtuosity, and above all, their first joint effort.

I first met Asha Bhosle after the release of 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram' (1971), where I was assisting Dev Anand, and met her last as recently as in 2019 at a music festival in Jaipur, where she was surrounded by friends and admirers, and yet she mentioned to all those present how long our association has been.

Neeti is currently seen as the judge on ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2023’. The singing reality show also features Himesh Reshammiya, and Anu Malik as judges, and Aditya Narayan as the host.
